Our client is active in the market of food flavorings, ingredients and colors of the private equity Ambienta SGR. Present in Italy, France, Belgium and UK they are a leading and constantly growing group. It counts a total of more than 450 people and a turnover of more than 120 Ml€.
The organization is divided into “Technical lines”, that group different operational units that are involved in common transformational projects.
These may include
1. designing the footprint,
2. Initiating and implementing local improvements
3. Supporting the introduction of new IT technologies (ERP, PLM etc)
4. Defining and implementing KPIs and metrics monitoring
5. Organizing and leading the transfer of products/productions from one site to another
6. Integrating new businesses from acquisitions
These projects are vital to promote and implement standardization, centralization ad digitalization of key processes in the group, and ultimately drive value through M&A.
Goals: integrate Systems and processes in the Tech line sites, ensuring the on-time, on-budget execution of transformational projects, while assuring business continuity and operational excellence in the tech lines sites. Bring a positive leadership to the change process and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
a. Assess the situation, resources, challenges and compare them with short- and long-term goals for the strategic projects.
b. Define the gaps and formalize a plan to close them.
c. Define interfunctional teams to manage the strategic projects.
d. Define the KPI set that measures how the strategic projects are affecting the Tech line performance in term of Cost, Service, Efficiency, Quality.
a. Monitor the data and the metrics that quantitatively describe the tech line functions and criticalities on different sites with the respective Site Ops Managers.
b. Measure the performance of key KPIs, processes and people in the Tech line, with specific focus on transformational projects.
a. Check the measure variations, enforce positive changes and eliminate root cause of negative ones.
b. Assess the benefits and criticalities created by the advancement of transformational projects and act immediately in case of deviations.
c. Investigate how internal and external variations affect the Tech Line functions and their performance, build a resilient structure with the Tech Line people, premises, machinery, methods.
a.Manage the execution of Transformational projects that introduce new processes, systems, footprint optimizations, product transfers within the Tech line.
b. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, set challenging goals and empower the Tech line team to reach them.
c. Make sure that no process and no function is given for granted and put everything – even him/herself – in constant benchmark and discussion.
a. Manage the overall balance between the business continuity, assured by the Site Operations Manages, and the effective change management and integration into Nactarome of existing and new businesses/sites.
b. The Tech line team is composed by the Supply Chain Manager, the Industrialization Manager and the Site Ops managers
c. Promote a culture of openness, respect and transparency, drive a continuous, clear and structured communication between Nactarome and the Plants ad between the different Tech line Plants.
Education: technical training, a Master’s Degree in Food Science or Chemistry or other related fields is required. Different studies at University level may be suitable if a specific knowledge of production, logistics and general industrial operations topics is clearly demonstrated. Formal PM training is a plus. Six Sigma training is a plus.
* Proven working experience in Operations in structured industrial groups, better if in chemical, pharmaceutical or food industry.
* Experience in multinational, multi-site complex operations is a plus, especially from buy and build platforms or other groups generated from M&A.
* Proven project management skills
* Mandatory practical experience of Lean and Kaizen techniques
* Six Sigma greenbelt certification is a plus.
* Knowledge of main chemical and food market quality standards, (HACCP, FSSC22000, …)
* Expertise in data analysis and management
* Hands-on experience with everyday production operations in a structured manufacturing environment.
* Proven ability to manage large, international and multi-site teams with outstanding results
Languages: Fluent Dutch (must!), English and French. Italian is a plus.
Strong change management skills, ability to solve conflicts, positive leadership, no-compromise ethics and discipline, initiative, lateral thinking ablity, capacity to analyze data and create useful information, ability to lead both technically and organizationally are the most important traits of the ideal candidate.
Working site: Plant sites, with national and international travel (up to 25-30% of time) to other group sites and business partners.
